Form → lead scoring → CRM
A website form posts to n8n. A rule set (and an optional AI step) sorts the lead, saves it to Airtable and alerts you.
Intermediate · 5 steps
Goal
Know which enquiries to answer first, with the reasoning visible so you can overrule it.
You will need
- A website form that can POST to a URL
- An n8n instance (cloud or self-hosted)
- An Airtable base
- Optionally a text model API key kept inside n8n credentials
Form → lead scoring → CRM
A website form posts to n8n. A rule set (and an optional AI step) sorts the lead, saves it to Airtable and alerts you.
Step 1 of 5 · Trigger
Website form
A visitor submits name, email, budget range and a short description.
What you set up
Send the form as JSON to an n8n webhook URL. Add a honeypot field and a spam check.
Watch for
Open webhooks get spammed. Validate input and add a secret or Turnstile check.
Setup steps
Write your qualification rules
Decide which answers make a lead a priority. Keep it to three or four rules you can explain.
Create the Airtable table
Add fields for contact, message, score, summary, source and status.
Build the webhook and validation
Use a Webhook node, then checks for a valid email, message length and honeypot field.
Add scoring and the optional summary
Use a Code or Set node for rule-based scoring. If you add a model, send it only the message text.
Write the record and alert
Create the Airtable row, then send the Telegram message with a link to it.
Test with bad data
Submit empty fields, long text, fake emails and a honeypot value before you publish the form.
Test it before you rely on it
- Submit a valid lead and check Airtable and Telegram.
- Submit with the honeypot filled and confirm nothing is saved.
- Submit a very long message.
- Stop n8n and confirm the form shows an honest error.
Caveats
- This workflow handles personal data. Update your privacy page and keep a retention rule.
- AI output can be wrong. Use it to sort and summarise, never to reject.
- We do not ship an importable n8n JSON file. A file that has not been tested against your n8n version would be a guess.
